"Lunchbreak"
premiere at the Vienna Secession Museum
artist Sharon Lockhart's film "Lunchbreak" premiered in November, 2009 as a major installation at the Secession Museum in Vienna, Austria. This film, shot by Richard Rutkowski, was a selection of the 2009 Sundance Film festival and the 2010 Berlin Film Festival.
A group of photographs taken on and just after September 11th was shown at the annual meeting of the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia. The keynote speaker was John Lehman, a former Secretary of the Navy and a member of the 9/11 Commission.

"Homework" has been awarded the Grand Jury Prize for best feature at the 2004 Slamdance Film Festival . This film was directed by Kevin Asher Green and produced by Anthony Katagas and Callum Greene.
"Persons of Interest", a documentary about the thousands of individuals held without charges in US prisons after 9/11, was screened in competition at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. This film was directed by Alison Maclean and Tobias Perse and produced by Larry Connor for The Documentary Campaign.
Interview with the Assassin won the Jury Prize for Best Feature Film (US production) at the 2003 Avignon Film Festival.
Richard has received an Honorable Mention for his work by the Camera Club of New York and will be participating in the Camera Club of New York 2003 National Photography Exhibition at Lowenherz Gallery.
Here are two photos taken on a recent scouting trip in Brooklyn. Over the years I have gotten more and more into Polaroid photography using a very old retrofitted Land Camera. In the beginning I was shooting Polaroid 667 stock exclusively for exposure checks on set, but these shots are done on Fuji 100C daylight stock and I love the muted colors and strong shadow tones.
