Company adds performance monitoring, business continuity services
By Cathleen Moore May 07, 2004

November 17, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Netli (NetLi.com) has announced that uptake of its services amongst Fortune 500 companies has increased.

Netli this week enhanced its application delivery network services with the addition of performance monitoring and business continuity services.

NetliView is a measurement and reporting service designed to let administrators continuously monitor the heath of applications that use the company's NetLightning application optimization service. The new NetliView incorporates technology from Mercury Topaz and is delivered as a Web portal providing around-the-clock access to and visibility of applications, according to Netli officials. The service aims to provide management and control over business-critical applications, said Willie Tejada, vice president of marketing and business development at Netli.

"NetliView gives end-to-end visibility of Netli-optimized applications. Individuals can go to a Web portal, and look at statistics, and monitor [the application's] health," he said.

In addition, the service can help IT administrators resolve performance issues by quickly linking problems with their root cause, according to Tejada.

The second new service, NetliContinuity, provides the ability to transparently shift traffic for Web applications across multiple sites. The service is designed to meet requirements for failover, backup, and regulatory compliance in enterprises with two or more datacenters, Netli officials said. NetliContinuity can provide global traffic control based on enterprise business policy, Tejada said.

"When you deliver applications over the Internet you want it to be controlled like a private network," he said.

The NetliView, NetliContinuity, and NetLightning services are built on the NetliOne platform, the company's global network infrastructure that enables the centralization of IT infrastructure and accelerated application response times, according to Netli officials.
